These requirements are for opening of any NRE, NRE and FCNR accounts. Please produce original documents for attestation by bank officials or produce photocopies attested by your overseas banker/notary or an official of the Indian embassy

• Copy of Valid Passport (including pages of Residence Visa / Work Permit)
• Separate Proof of Non-Resident Status (in case not included in the passport)- Work / Residence Permit, Appointment letter from Overseas Company
• Proof of Indian Origin (in case of foreign passport holder)
• Passport sized photographs of all the joint holders

Additional documents required for Minor Accounts

• Minor’s birth certificate
• Photocopy of guardian’s passport
• Guardian’s photograph

Additional documents required for Applicants employed with: Shipping company / Merchant Navy:

Any one of the following:

• Photocopy of the Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC)
• Photocopy of Employment Contract / Letter from Overseas Company
• For permanent employees – initial work contract and last wage slip
• For contract employees – last work contract, letter confirming next date of joining vessel or current work contract
