• State-of-the-art Lockers, the safe deposit vaults with fully equipped, latest burglar alarm systems.
• The Locker Hirers can assign a code word, which further increases security.
• Lockers are available in different sizes as per your requirement.
• The Lockers and their contents can be nominated to people near and dear to you.

• For obtaining a Locker at DCB you must be an account holder with our Bank.
• Lockers can be allotted to Individuals (including Non-Residents), Firms, Companies, Trusts, Societies, Clubs, etc. Individuals can hire the Locker in single name or jointly with other person(s). The Locker Hirers are permitted to add or delete names from the list of persons who can operate the Locker and can have access to it.
• Branches presently having no vacant lockers are maintaining a Wait List of Lockers. Customers would be intimated about the availability of the lockers as and when available.
• The Locker Hirers are required to access their Lockers at least once in a year. Unless satisfactory reasons for not operating the Locker is given in writing to the Bank, the Bank may, due to security reasons, cancel the allotment of the Locker and break open the Locker, even if the rent is paid regularly, as per the guidelines issued by the RBI.
• Locker Rents are payable in advance annually. Rents vary depending upon the size of the Locker and the Branch location. Schedule of Rent is annexed below.
• Delay in payment of Locker Rents may result in denial of access to the Lockers and would also attract prescribed penalties.
• In addition to the Annual Locker Rent payable in advance, Locker Hirers would be required to place a Fixed Deposit equivalent to three years’ Locker Rent as Security Deposit, which will be in the form of a Fixed Deposit under lien of the Bank.
• Non-payment of Locker Rents beyond the due date may result in the Bank breaking open the Locker as per prescribed procedure laid down in this respect. Costs for breaking open the Locker and safe custody charges for the contents of the Locker would be payable by the Locker Hirer. Security Deposit would be appropriated towards overdue rent / costs / safe custody charges.
• In case of loss of keys by the Locker Hirer, Bank will arrange to break open the Locker and re-fit it with a new lock. Cost of break open and new lock will be payable by the Locker Hirer.
• In case of death of a sole Locker Hirer, access to the locker and liberty to remove the contents would be with the Nominee. The Nominee would hold the contents of the Locker as a Trustee, on behalf of the legal heirs of the deceased locker holder and arrange to hand them over in an appropriate manner. In case the locker is hired jointly with the instructions to operate it under joint signatures and the locker hirers nominate persons, in the event of death of any of the locker hirers, the Bank would give access of the locker and liberty to remove the contents jointly to the survivor(s) and the nominee(s). In case the locker is hired jointly with survivorship clause and the locker hirers have given instructions as “either or survivor”, “anyone or survivor” or “former or survivor”, Bank will follow the mandate in the event of the death of one or more of the locker hirers.
  This will, however, be subject to establishment of identity of the survivor(s) / nominee(s) and if no court order is served on the Bank restraining the Bank from giving access to the locker of the deceased.
• In case of death of a sole / joint hirer(s) of Lockers without survivorship clause / nomination, Bank will follow the laid down procedure for handing over the contents of the Locker, based on the estimated value of the contents of the Locker.
• Nominee / Survivor(s) has the option to continue using the same locker by entering into a fresh contract and by fulfilling Bank’s applicable Know Your Customer norms.

Note: For existing locker hirers as on 31st December, 2006, the rates would be applicable from 01.02.2007 or from the date of next renewal, whichever is later.
