Guide to refill your talktime using SMS

A one-time registration needs to be done at any of the DCB ATMs to avail of the SMS refill facility. You don’t need to register for this facility if you intend to refill your mobile prepaid card directly through an ATM. This facility is available to DCB ATM / Debit cardholders only.

The transaction flow for refilling talktime through SMS is as under:

  1. Insert your DCB Card in the ATM and enter the Pin no.
  2. Select ‘Mobile Recharge / Bill Pay’ from the main menu.
  3. Select ‘Mobile Recharge’ from the next menu.
  4. The next menu will have the option for registration. Select the option ‘I want to Register’.
  5. Enter your correct prepaid mobile number in the next screen and select submit. This number would be stored permanently for all refill transactions through SMS.
  6. The next screen will confirm that your  registration has been completed.
  7. After successful completion of the registration process, you will receive a SMS advising you of your 4-digit access code from the mobile operator.
  8. After receiving the access code, you can refill your prepaid mobile card from anywhere by sending a simple SMS to the mobile operator.
    An example of the SMS format is RC DCB 500 XXXX
    Where RC stands for Refill, DCB is the code for Development Credit Bank, 500 is refilling amount and XXXX is the access code provided by the mobile operator.
    SMS should be sent to Hutch/Orange at 140, Airtel at 585 and Idea at 147 and BPL at 575.
  9. DCB will debit your primary account for the refill amount.
  10. After transaction is successful, the mobile operator would send a confirmation SMS to your mobile phone indicating that the refill was successful. You will also see the balance talktime available in this message. 

Please note that the access code for mobile refill is different from the Pin for operating your card for normal ATM transactions. If you wish to cancel the registration for any reason, please inform your nearest DCB Branch. Your access code will be deactivated.

In case of any complaint, you must send full particulars of the nature of the complaint to DCB Branch together with the ATM receipt, if applicable. The transaction details in electronic form provided by the mobile operator from their system will be conclusive and binding on customers.
